etfe wire

Characteristics of ETFE electrical wire

The insulation material of ETFE wire is ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, F-40 for short, commonly known as soft glass.

The ETFE material has the corrosion resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene, and at the same time has strong adhesion characteristics to metals, which overcomes the non-adhesion defect of polytetrafluoroethylene to metals, and its average linear expansion coefficient is close to that of carbon steel. The expansion coefficient makes ETFE (F-40) an ideal composite material with metal, and it has excellent negative pressure resistance characteristics.

The weight of ETFE film is very light (only 0.15-0.35 kg per square meter), but as mentioned above, it has good physical properties, insulation, wear resistance, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, tensile strength greater than 40MPa, elongation at break Up to 300% or more.

ETFE is a flame-retardant material (the fire rating reaches B1). Even in an open flame, the ETFE film will shrink when heated, but there will be no dripping. Because its own weight is very light, even if there is a fire, it will be less dangerous.
